Quakers in Florence

Quakers in Florence is an English-speaking worship group formed in January 2019 by five long-time members of the Society of Friends from different parts of the world but living in Tuscany: Kirsten Hills (Britain Yearly Meeting, UK), Cathleen Compton (Philadelphia YM, USA), Danielle Leite (Britain YM, UK), Malcolm Brown (Australia YM, AUS), and Sylvia Hetzel (Baltimore YM, USA). In Italy, we are part of the Friends World Committee for Consultation Europe and Middle East Section (FWCC-EMES). We are in close and frequent contact with our Italian Friends in Bologna.

Our Meetings are unprogrammed and self-ministered. We meet every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month at 11am (in person and via Zoom, since March 2020).

All are welcome. If you would like to attend, please email us using our contact page and we will send a link. If you have never attended a Quaker Meeting before, let us know so we can provide some information in advance about what to expect. And if you’re already a member of the Society of Friends, we hope very much you’ll be able to attend an online Meeting with us until, and even after, we are able to meet in person.

The Florence group meets every 1^st and 3^rd Sunday of the month at 11am. When possible Meetings are held both in person and via Zoom; otherwise they take place via Zoom only.

Il gruppo Quakers in Florence è stato fondato nel gennaio 2019 da cinque persone di nazionalita’ diverse, residenti da tempo in Toscana, che sono affiliate alla Societá degli Amici nei rispettivi paesi di provenienza da molti anni: Kirsten Hills (Britain Yearly Meeting, UK), Cathleen Compton (Philadelphia YM, USA), Danielle Leite (Britain YM, UK), Malcom Brown, Australia YM, AUS) and Sylvia Hetzel (Baltimore YM, USA). In Italia fanno parte del FWCC-EMES (the Friends World Committee for Consultation, European and Middle Eastern Sections).

Gli incontri sono del tipo “unprogrammed” e la condivisione è spontanea. Il gruppo si incontro in presenza (quando e’ possibile) o via Zoom, la prima e la terza domenica del mese alle 11am CET. La lingua usata e’ principalmente l’inglese.

Per partecipare ad un incontro, basta mandare un email tramite la nostra pagina contatti e la rappresentante del gruppo rispondera’. Se è la prima volta che participate ad un incontro quacchero segnalatelo e manderemo delle informazioni su quel che accade in un incontro. Se siete gia’ affiliati alla Societá degli Amici speriamo che potrete partecipare in presenza oppure via Zoom.
